One of our more popular ensembles is our RMEC Jazz Band. This group is the most called upon for performance events and concerts. The Jazz Band has performed at Miami International Airport, the Rusty Pelican, the Miami-Dade Public School's Teacher of the Year Banquet, the South Regional Holiday Brunch, the RMEC Black History Month Show, the Mr. & Mrs. Morgan Pageant, and the Sunny Hills ALF Home for their Senior Prom. The were also featured on NBC 6's "Brag About Your School" special on Robert Morgan Educational Center.

Every year, our Jazz Band participates in District Music Performance Assessments. We are proud to have received an Excellent/Excellent/Superior Rating in our first year back (2017) after a long hiatus from Jazz MPAs. 

 

Members of our group are frequently asked to perform in combos or as soloists for various events in our community. Our members are frequently chosen for the MDCPS Superintendent's Honor's Jazz Band!
